Born and raised in San Francisco, Mikel Paul has played since he was six years old. Self taught and always in love with the process of writing tunes, he honed his skills playing bass, piano and guitar. He toured and played bass in Santa Esmeralda during their popular run with the hit single "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" opening for the likes of Barry White, Styx, Edgar Winter and Santana among many others.
His lifelong passion as a singer/songwriter led him to release in Feb 2014 his first CD "It's Raining In New York", from which the first single "The Way A Woman's Body Goes" reached #25 nationally (America's Music Charts "Smooth Jazz' category). A late bloomer for sure.
